Confocal immunofluorescence localization of overexpressed Rab27A constructs in PC12 cells. 3 d after transfection with vectors encoding Rab27A WT, Q78L, and T23N (as indicated), PC12 cells were imaged for Rab27A. Under the conditions used, transfected cells were much brighter than nontransfected ones. Rab27A and Rab27-Q78L displayed a punctated distribution very similar to that of endogenous Rab27A. In contrast, Rab27A-T23N gave a diffuse staining of the cytosol.
