Dynamin-2 expression triggers DNA fragmentation without cell cycle arrest. tTA-HeLa cells infected with adenovirus encoding dyn1^wt (A) or dyn2^wt (B). 36 h postinfection, cells were fixed, incubated with propidium iodine to label DNA and analyzed for the percentage of cells in various phases of the cell cycle by FACS^®, as described in Materials and Methods. 10,000 were counted for each condition. Note the appearance of fragmented DNA (arrow) characteristic of apoptotic cells in the dyn2^wt samples.
