Actin dynamics in a CAR fibroblast transfected with mCherry-actin. Video corresponds to Fig. 1 A. The bilateral translation and folding of filopodia gives rise to bundles of actin at the base of the lamellipodium that persist in or disperse into the lamella as the cell front advances. Time-lapse images were acquired every 20 s and the total duration of the video is 29 min. The display rate is 6 frames/s. Bar, 10 µm.
