Figure S4. TSA decreases LPS-induced mortality, but only in WT mice. (A) Dose–response of LPS for WT mice. WT littermates of the MKP-1 KO mice were injected with various doses of LPS i.p. on day 0, and then observed. Increasing doses of LPS cause a higher rate of mortality in WT mice (n = 5). (B) TSA dose response for WT mice. WT C57BL/6J mice were injected with TSA daily for 5 d starting on day −2, injected with LPS 50 µg/gbw on day 0, and their mortality was recorded each day after LPS treatment (n = 10–30; P < 0.00001 by Fisher‘s exact test). (C) WT and MKP-1 KO mice were injected with 20 µg/gbw LPS i.p., and observed. 20 µg/gbw LPS caused an increased rate of mortality in MKP-1 KO mice compared with WT mice (n = 5).
