Alignment of rat, mouse, and human MIS type II promoters. The DNA sequences from the rat, mouse, and human type II receptor proximal promoters were aligned by using MacVector software. Identical nucleotides are boxed, and the conserved footprinted binding sites for SF-1, Sp1, and unknown factors are shown shaded. Nucleotides are numbered from the transcription initiation site of the rat promoter. Homology between mouse and rat is greater than 95% and between human [Imbeaud, S., Faure, E., Lamarre, I., Mattei, M.-G., diClemente, N., Tizard, R., Carre-Eusebe, D., Belville, C., Tragethon, L., Tonkin, C., et al.
