The panels show the biases that result from the host sequence (Val₅-Ala-Pro-Gly-Ala-Val₅) and six additional sequences in which a guest residue (Asp, Glu, Leu, Asn, Ser, and Thr) is substituted at position six. Ser, Asp, and Asn favor formation of a type I or III turn, while Ala, Leu, and Glu favor formation of a type II turn. Populations are given in Table 4.
