(D) XRyk MO specifically inhibited the translation of its cognate mRNA. The 5′ untranslated region (500 pg) and ORF (500 pg) XRyk-myc mRNA were injected with XRyk MO (10 ng) into the animal regions of embryos at the four-cell stage. Animal cap explants isolated at early gastrula stages were then subjected to immunoblot analysis with anti-myc antibodies. Actin served as a specificity control.
