Phylogenetic analysis of GAP-containing proteins. A total of 157 representative sequences were selected from over 400 GAP-containing sequences. The phylogenetic tree was generated using ClustalW and PHYLIP programs. Distant groups were compressed and the number of sequences in these groups was shown. The putative GAPsec subgroup is highlighted in bold. Red, Sec-containing organisms; Blue, Sec-lacking organisms.
