  • Figure S1. IL-4 priming of MΦ-inhibited phagocytosis of different particles (JPG, 382 KB) -
Flow cytometric analysis of ThioMΦ ingestion of labeled particles. Thio MΦ were treated with IL-4 for 48 hr and challenged with ethanol-fixed FITC-E.coli (100 bacteria per MΦ) for 2 hr at 37°C (A), with FITC-latex bead (5 beads per MΦ) for 1hr at 37°C (B). (C) IL-4 treatment also decreased zymosan uptake (upper panel) whilst Dectin-1 expression was enhanced (lower panel). The mean fluorescence for each treatment was determined by flow cytometry. The histogram shows the effect of IL-4 on uptake of different particles.
