Movie of the S1–S2 junction viewed down the a axis of the unit cell. The color scheme is as follows: the heavy chain of the "free" myosin head is magenta and that of the "blocked" head is red, the essential light chains are blue, the regulatory light chains (RLCs) are orange, and the S2 is cyan. The light chain lever arm of the "blocked" head is outlined in black. The N termini of the RLCs (F19, smooth muscle F25) are shown in cyan as ball-and-stick structures. The movie will rock back and forth to provide several views of this junction. Note that there is no symmetry about the junction.
