Dynamic view of NPC1–GFP trafficking in late endosomal tubules in a Niemann–Pick type C mutant CHO cell (CT60). CT60 cells have the cholesterol lipidosis phenotype of NPC1 human cells. Transfection with WTNPCI–GFP clears cholesterol from the cell and reestablishes rapid late endosomal tubular trafficking. The movie speed is 14 times real time, and it contains 63 frames.
