Inhibition of GIRK4*I229L, a mutant defective in phosphatidylinositol-4,5-biphosphate (PIP₂) sensitivity, by substance P. The GIRK4*I229L was expressed with the NK1R in a Xenopus oocyte. The currents were inhibited when the cell was exposed to 1 m M substance P (SP). The broken line indicates the baseline level of the current amplitude.
