Fragments containing CHN sequences were visualized by using a ³²P-CHN48 cDNA. Scale at left, size of markers in kb. A partial map of pACH11 used for transformation is shown with the positions of relevant restriction sites relative to the EcoRI site in parentheses. The TAC locus contains two T-DNA copies arranged in a direct repeat (EcoRV digests). The second copy in this direct repeat is missing at least 1.5 kb from its right border (EcoRV digests). No truncated CHN transgenes are found (EcoRI digests).
