This movie depicts the inability of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) to enter infected superficial umbrella cells. The fluorescence image (green) of the growing intracellular bacterial community was overlaid with the transmitted light image to observe the activity of the PMNs (psuedocolored blue).
