Fig. S1. Expression of eIF4E-1 and eIF4E-3 in ovaries and testes. (A) Drosophila eIF4E-related recombinant proteins were produced without any tag. 2 µg of recombinant protein per lane was resolved by SDS-PAGE and stained with Coomassie Blue. (B) To test the specificity of anti-eIF4E-3 (#39-3) antibody, 0.2 µg of recombinant protein per lane were resolved by SDS-PAGE, blotted and probed with anti-eIF4E-3 (#39-3) antibody. (C) Total protein extracts (20 µg per lane) were probed with anti-eIF4E-3 (#39-3) or anti-eIF4E-1 antibodies (Lachance et al., 2002).
