The Essential Oil Secretory Structures of Prostanthera ovalifolia (Lamiaceae)

The glandular trichomes of P. ovalifolia are investigated with light and electron microscopic imaging techniques by Gersbach (pp. 255-260). Trichome development and structure are described, and evidence is presented that identifies the sites of essential oil biosynthesis and accumulation, and indicates how the oil is secreted.
