The symmetric division of a Arl2T30N-expressing NB. Live whole-mount Arl2T30N larval brain expressing microtubule-associated G147-GFP was used to analyze the division of NBs. The brain was dissected and loaded into a Lab-TekTM chambered coverglass (Thermo Fisher Scientific) filled with dissecting medium supplemented with 2.5% methyl cellulose (Sigma-Aldrich). The time-lapse images of NB division were acquired every 20 s on a confocal microscope (LSM 710; ZEISS). The video was processed with ImageJ and displayed in 15 frames per second, and the stills of the movie are shown in Fig. 2 G. Time is shown in hours:minutes:seconds. Bar, 5 µm. - Video 1 -
The asymmetric division of a wild-type control NB. Live whole-mount wild-type brain expressing microtubule-associated G147-GFP was used to analyze the asymmetric cell division of NBs.
