Fig. 3. Evidence for linkage between D6S1053 and the quantitative score for cortical cataracts. The multipoint identity by descent (IBD) sharing scores estimated using GENIBD (x axis) were plotted against the weighted average of the squared trait difference and the squared mean-corrected trait sum, allowing for the non-independence of the sib pairs (y axis). The scale for IBD scores ranged from 0 to 1 but can be interpreted as corresponding to 0, 1, and 2 alleles IBD (x axis). The positive slope of the regression line demonstrates that there is strong evidence for linkage at this position.
