Fig. 9. VX2 tumors are highly aggressive and widely metastatic. VX2 was implanted in a single lobe of the liver. At necropsy 44 days later, there were numerous lesions in the liver and abdominal wall (black arrows). a shows the surface of the abdominal cavity, whereas b shows the liver. The yellow arrow points to the gall bladder. The original injection site is indicated by the red arrow.





Fig. 10. Kaplan-Meier survival curves. The median survival increased from 44 to 82 days in the treatment arm (P < 0.01). The cure rate was »30%. Seven rabbits were used in the control arm and 23 in the C. novyi-NT treatment arm.
