Stereo view of final 2F_o- F_c electron density map contoured at 1.5 s, showing region where the pro-sequence joins the mature sequence. The carbon atoms of the pro-sequence are green, whereas those of the mature sequence are yellow. Initial electron density maps clearly showed the presence of the pro-sequence, and after refinement clear density for the main chain and side chain of 11 of the 17 aa of the pro-sequence was visible, along with the main chain of the Ile -12.
