Supporting Movie 4Movie 4.
This movie shows the distribution of a new nuclear protein, trapped with GFP, during a syncitial division of the Drosophila embryo (line G180). The only feature deduced from the predicted protein sequence is a nuclear targeting signal. Our analysis confirms this nuclear localization of GFP, which is detected in the extrachromosomal nuclear domain (END). Time-lapse analysis shows the dynamics of this proteins distribution during the cell cycle (compare with the chromosomal distribution of GFP in Movie 3). Note the exclusion of the signal from the equatorial plate at metaphase. (Time scale: accelerated 225 times.)
