The main conclusions derived from this study are: Munroa is a C4 genus, K-PS-NAD-me. It has all the characteristics assigned to this category: double bundle sheath and the chloroplasts in the Kranz sheath cells are centripetally placed. The anatomical studies support the subdivision of this genus in three sections following Anton and Hunziker (1978): Sect. Munroa, Sect. Hemimunroa and Sect. Apelytron. Munroa squarrosa, the only species of Sect. Munroa, is characterized by several features, some of them peculiar to this section and others shared with sections Hemimunroa and Apelytron (table 1). According to the anatomical characters it is not possible to recognize M. andina as belonging to a different genus: Hemimunroa, sensu Parodi 1937. The genera Munroa, Blepharidachne, Dasyochloa and Erioneuron can be separated by the anatomical features of the stem.] TS - RIS M4 - Citavi ER - TY - BOOK AU - Sherff, E. The genus Trichocline belongs to the family of the Compositae, tribe Mutisieae, and it includes 22 species, most of them from South America, and only one from Australia. In South America the genus is distributed in two geographical areas, both with the same number of species: the Andean area extending through Bolivia, Chile and W of Argentina and the south brazilian area extending through the south of Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and NE of Argentina. Three species grow in the northern or central part of Argentina. The genus is divided into three sections: Nervifolium, with one species, Amblysperma, with two species and Trichocline, with 19 species. The author considers that the most primitive section is Nervifolium, and in the section Trichocline which includes most of the species, the most primitive species are those which grow in the south brazilian area. The pollen of this genus has been studied and the chromosome number of three species has been determined. All the species are described and illustrated. The following new taxa or combinations are proposed: Trichocline spathulata (Phil.) nov. comb., Trichocline auriculata var. breviscapa nov. var., Chaptalia denticulata (Bak.) nov. comb., and Chaptalia martii (Bak.) nov. comb. A number of synonyms is proposed, all of them based on the study of the respective nomenclatural types.] TS - RIS M4 - Citavi ER -
