Protocols have been published for these four separate reviews (Estcourt 2014a; Estcourt 2014b; Estcourt 2014c; Estcourt 2014d). Two new outcomes have been added to the protocol (platelet transfusion interval, quality of life) (Estcourt 2014c). The primary and secondary outcomes have been reported over time-frames prespecified within the protocol (Estcourt 2014c). The platelet threshold comparisons have been prespecified.
