Nitric oxide (NO) release by β-galactosidase-mediated hydrolysis of β-gal-NONOate. a) Representative dose-response curve of NO generated from enzymatic hydrolysis of increasing boluses of β-gal-NONOate (50 × 10−6 m) by β-galactosidase (0.1 mg mL−1) in DBG solution (Dulbecco's PBS with divalent cations and 5.5 × 10−3 m glucose) at 37 °C.
