Note that the total cases gained in the last row adds up to more than the number of cases above for each serotype, because the serotypes shown are only those used in the carriage model. The values for total cases gained also included calculations for additional serotypes (not shown) that were responsible for IPD, but were not present in carriage in children under 5 during this time period.
