Overview of whole-heart ventricular arrhythmia modeling. Cell-level and tissue-level properties of ventricular myocyte electrophysiology are incorporated into whole-organ level ventricular heart models. These ventricular heart models can also incorporate personalized information from clinical data modalities such as medical imaging, electrocardiogram (ECG), and invasive electrical mapping. These models are then used to run simulations of ventricular arrhythmias (VA) which can be used to gain insights into fundamental biophysical mechanisms, to predict results in novel therapeutic modalities, and to aid in clinical decision making in the management of VAs.
