Experimental design. Each rat was implanted with pairs of fine-wire EMG electrodes in the right soleus (SOL) and right tibialis anterior (TA) muscles and a stimulating cuff on the posterior tibial (PT) nerve. After control data collection, the right sciatic nerve was transected and repaired, and the rat was exposed for an additional 120 days to either continued control data collection or to SOL H-reflex up-conditioning.
