Table 1. Stereotaxic Coordinates for Unilateral Disconnection Lesions.

Lesion site AP ML DV
RSP −2.0 ±0.3 −1.6 and −2.5
−3.5 ±0.4 −1.8 and −2.5
−5.0 ±0.4 and ±1.0 −1.6 and −2.2 (medial site), −1.6 (lateral site)
−6.5 ±0.8 and ±1.4 −1.6 and −2.2 (medial site), −2.7 (lateral site)
−8.0 ±1.0 and ±2.0 −2.0 (medial site), −2.4 (lateral site)

POR 0.5 ±4.4 −5.3
−0.1 ±4.4 −4

Note: Anterior-posterior (AP), medial-lateral (ML) and dorsal-ventral (DV) measurements for retrosplenial cortex (RSP) lesions are derived from bregma, midline and skull surface, respectively (measurements are in mm). AP measurements for postrhinal cortex (POR) lesions are derived from lambda. Electrolytic lesions were made by applying a 2.5-mA current for 15 s at each RSP site and for 10 s at each POR site. Lesion placement was counter-balanced between the right and left hemispheres across rats. ± indicates that a lesion was placed on either the left or the right hemisphere.
