Example neurons encoding the chosen action in only one task. Spike density histograms are sorted according to the action chosen by the subject as well as the reward they expected for both the AO and SO task. In addition, for the SO task, spike density histograms are sorted according to the action chosen by the subject as well as the left/right position of the pictures on the screen. Neural activity is shown from the time of onset of the second reward for the AO task (the brown spot on the x-axis indicates time of reward offset) and from the time of the onset of the choice cue for the SO task.
