Constitutive transcript abundance was assessed in freshly isolated BALMC of HIV-1 infected persons (n=12, open squares) and HIV-1 uninfected persons (n=10, solid circles). ΔCT = (CT gene of interest) – (CT β-Actin). A lower ΔCT indicates higher transcript abundance. Each sign represents one sample, bars represent medians. Differences between constitutive RANTES transcript abundance of HIV-1 infected and HIV-1 uninfected persons was p=0.003 (Mann Whitney U test).
