Clinical Symptoms

Rapid cognitive decline with any two of:
 Myoclonus
 Pyramidal/extrapyramidal
 Visual
 Cerebellar
 Akinetic mutism
 Other focal cortical signs

AND Diagnostic Testing

 Typical MRI changes on FLAIR and DWI
 EEG findings of periodic sharp and wave complexes

AND No other condition to explain observed clinical findings
