The EXP-2 channel is closely related to voltage-sensitive K+ channels of the Kv type. The amino acid sequence of the C. elegans channel EXP-2 is shown in single-letter code. The tetramerization domain T1 is underlined, and the transmembrane segments S1–S6 are highlighted by a wavy line. The pore region between S5 and S6 is doubly underlined. Three consensus sites for phosphorylation by protein kinase C and two glycosylation sites are shown above the sequence by a black dot and a diamond, respectively. There are no consensus sites for phosphorylation by cAM P-dependent protein kinase. The amino acid sequence of EXP-2 is from Davis (1999).
