Matched maternal and neonatal (cord) serum levels of THs were measured using ELISA. Maternal (A) and neonatal (cord) (B) fT3 increased with increasing maternal obesity. Maternal fT4 (C) decreased only in the most obese subjects, while cord fT4 (D) is increased in offspring from Overweight, Obese 1 and Obese 2 subjects. While no changes in maternal TSH (E) were observed, neonatal TSH (F) slightly increases in the offspring from Obese 2 and 3 subjects.
