All values for lattice diameter were set to 1.5 × Step_size. Regularization parameters of stiffness, weight, and similarity were set to 1, 1, and 0.3, respectively (as per {Robbins et al., 2004, Med Image Anal, 8, 311-23}). In all cases intensity features extracted from the blur were used.
