Right ventricular enlargement is grossly evident in treated dogs. Gross appearance of the heart of an untreated affected dog euthanized at 10 months of age (A) and in a treated affected dog euthanized at 21 months (B). The right ventricle (arrows) has a flabby appearance in the older dog, and the left ventricle is enlarged in this dog. Small pale foci are evident on the epicardial surface (circled) that are more prominent in the older treated dog.
