We thank the authors for their response to our recent article and agree the points are important to our findings.

With the limited data currently available on multimorbidity (i.e. two or more pre-existing chronic conditions), we were unable to assess severity of the diseases and by ethnicity in full detail. Also, it could be possible a significant proportion of those with diabetes and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection is a reflection of high insulin resistance, however this still remains unclear. Moreover, recent studies have indicated obesity could potentially be linked with increased risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection and mortality.

In our future studies we intend to investigate the severity of the comorbidities, consider different ethnic populations, and the link between obesity and mortality, as the UK Biobank will have a much larger sample size in those tested for SARS-CoV-2 infection.
