Benign prostatic hyperplasia

PMCID: PMC100319

In the alpha blocker section of this “Extract from Clinical Evidence” by Barry and Roehrborn (3 November, pp 1042-6) the second sentence in the Comment should read “Prazosin, terazosin, and doxazosin lower blood pressure and may be used to treat both hypertension and BPH.” Alfuzosin had been mentioned in this sentence; however, studies subsequent to the one referenced in the Clinical Evidence article have cast doubt on its ability to reduce blood pressure at the dose used in BPH.
