Died of esophageal cancer Dec. 14, 2001, aged 66; survived by his wife, Rosemary, and 2 children. His wife stated: “His greatest love was the challenge of taking up golf soon after he arrived in Canada and maintaining a single-figure handicap to the end.”

Morton, Harry S., Halifax; University of London (England), 1932; FACS, FRCS(Eng.), FRCOG, FRCSC; surgeon commander, RCN, WW II; former honorary attending surgeon, Royal Victoria Hospital; chief surgeon, Queen Mary Veterans Hospital; chair and chief examiner, surgery, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; founder, Quebec Tumour Registry; OBE. He was made patron of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1999. Died Dec. 7, 2001, aged 96; survived by his wife, Rachel. Colleague Jean Cameron commented: “He was honorary medical officer to Canada's last corvette (and naval war memorial) HMCS Sackville. Guests to the Sackville, which is docked in Halifax, may still enjoy a visit to a sick bay that Dr. Morton refurbished to reflect the naval medical standards of WW II.”

Décédé le 13 novembre 2001, à l'âge de 72 ans; laisse son épouse, Esther Ling et cinq enfants.

Died of a heart attack Nov. 14, 2001, aged 63; survived by 3 children, and his companion, Wanda Salomonski. “He was founding director of the Rheumatic Diseases Unit at the University of Alberta Hospital, and loved taking his dogs Geordie, Bertie, Claude and Tasha for walks.”
