The Adult with Tetralogy of Fallot is the 1st monograph of a series dealing with congenital heart disease in adults sponsored by the International Society of Adults with Congenital Cardiac Disease. The project is commendable and much needed; and authors from Canada, Europe, Japan, and the United States have contributed to this initial effort. The Adult with Tetralogy is not a textbook but a collection of articles dealing with risk stratification, arrhythmias, interventional procedures, exercise performance, right ventricular function, and late surgery in patients who have survived corrective surgery and reached adulthood.
This slim volume is brief, informative, well written, and very useful for the cardiologist, whether pediatric or general. Many of us now face the care of an increasingly larger number of adults who have undergone “total repair” of multiple congenital anomalies. It is worth reading.
