The authors regret that the printed version of the above article contained an error in Fig. 3. The correct and final version follows. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Fig. 3.

Fig. 3

The time evolution of airborne droplets after sneezing of a 23 years-old male student at different times for T∞ = 298 K and RH∞ = 30 %. (The listed lengths are the maximum spreading distances traveled by the droplets measured by the CCD camera.)

Corrigendum paragraph 4 in Section 4.1.1.

In the statement of ‘In the period of 0.28 to 0.45 s, the droplet cloud expands further in the air to form “fully-dispersed droplets” with a maximum detectable spreading distance of 2.73±0.05 to 2.82±0.02 m, respectively’ the values of maximum detectable spreading distance was changed to 1.73±0.05 to 2.12±0.02 m, respectively.

Corrigendum Fig. 3.

After the publication of the original article (Bahramian, Mohammadi, and Ahmadi (2023)), it came to the authors' attention that Fig. 3 mistakenly showed the data of Bourouiba (2020) that was used for comparison with our data. Therefore, the correct form of Fig. 3 was changed:
