Amar Alwitry and Roger Holden, the authors of the picture story about a patient with a visual field defect that was thought to be caused by excessive upper eyelid skin but was in fact secondary to an intraocular tumour (23 February, p 494), were unhappy with the tone of the text that accompanied their picture. The problem arose because the BMJ did not receive the correct wording.
