Ethical statement – studies using animals

Work involving animals (mice) to generate peritoneal macrophages was carried out in accordance with UK Home Office regulations under an existing Home Office project licence (PPL 60/4135). The use of animals in experiments and testing was regulated under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA) and European Directive 2010/63/EU.
