Abstract
F waves have been recorded from hand or leg muscles following surgical section or traumatic avulsion of dorsal roots. It has been found that under these conditions F wave size can still be changed by manoeuvres which influence motor neuron excitability but that the size and direction of the changes are variable and may be dependent on the resting level of that excitability.
