Dear Editor,
I read the article ‘Mission and vision of TEAM IJA: From the desk of editor-in-chief’, which is encouraging for all of us.[1] The Indian Journal of Anaesthesia (IJA) editorial team has tremendous potential to achieve higher heights for the journal’s standards. However, on behalf of all ISA members and as a researcher, I wish to know a more precise vision and plan of action for the journal.
There is a vicious cycle of submission of a good manuscript, high citation and high impact factor.[2,3] The IJA must strictly follow mandatory clinical trial registration and standard reporting guidelines available on the Enhancing the QUAlity and Transparency Of health Research (EQUATOR) network.[4]
Besides good manuscripts, a good reviewer plays a vital role in any journal. Conducting regular research methodology workshops under IJA leadership during various conferences or online will help reviewers and authors. The IJA editorial board can experiment with newer manuscript formats such as research methodology rounds, clinical images/videos, expert’s open mind, non-academic creative work and others.
