The participants were recruited via email advertisements, social media posts, school website advertisement, and registration on the ClinicalTrials.gov website. The participants were randomly assigned to either the control group or intervention group. Intervention consisted of using the Insight Timer meditation app 10 minutes a day for 30 days. The primary outcomes of the General Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) and 5-item World Health Organization Well-Being Index (WHO-5) scores were recorded and analyzed at the time of administration of the pre-study survey and the post-intervention surveys. Surveys also included questions about future outlook and hopefulness, sleep habits, and nutrition and exercise habits.
