Turcotte LA, McArthur C, Poss JW, et al. Long-Term Care Resident Health and Quality of Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Synthesis Analysis of Canadian Institute for Health Information Data Tables. Health Serv Insights. 2023; 16:11786329231174744. doi:10.1177/11786329231174745

The authors identified an error in the program that was used to calculate the risk ratio statistics that appear in the figures and supplemental files. Two additional programming errors affected the denominators used to calculate the discharge destination and medication use frequency statistics that appear on the left side of Figures 1 and 3. These errors have been corrected in the figures, text, and supplemental files. Except in two instances, the interpretations of the findings are unchanged. The first exception is that admissions from hospital increased during the pandemic period in all four provinces, not only in Ontario, British Columbia and Manitoba as previously reported. The second exception is that performance on six, not seven, quality indicators deteriorated in British Columbia during the pandemic period. The conclusions of the study are unaffected. The authors apologize to readers for these inadvertent errors.
