Date Event Description
30 October 2008 Amended Converted to new review format.

History

Protocol first published: Issue 1, 1999
Review first published: Issue 1, 2000

Date Event Description
18 August 2005 New citation required and conclusions have changed One new trial has been added to each of three groups: empirical proton pump inhibitor drug (PPI) versus antacid, test and treat versus endoscopy, and test and treat versus PPI.

The most significant change has been the inclusion of an individual patient data (IPD) meta‐analysis to the test and treat versus endoscopy comparison, with full per‐patient economic data. This changes the conclusions in the review compared to the pervious publication‐based data.
The next update will extend the IPD analysis into endoscopy versus PPI, and test and treat versus PPI.
27 February 2003 New citation required and conclusions have changed Three new trials have been added to the sections comparing management strategies for dyspepsia. One of these sections, H.pylori test and treat v. acid suppression alone, previously had no trials.

Much more data on resource utilisation and costs will be added in the next planned update in early 2004, when much of the data will be converted to 'individual patient data' now in our posession.
1 June 2001 New citation required and conclusions have changed Eight new trials have been added to the sections comparing management strategies for dyspepsia. Two of these sections, Hp test and scope v. usual management and H.pylori test and treat v. endoscopy, previously had no trials.

Much more data on resource utilisation and costs has been added to existing trials, as further data has been published.
