Retraction notice to “Thapsigargin triggers cardiac contractile dysfunction via nadph oxidase -mediated mitochondrial dysfunction: Role of Akt dephosphorylation” [Free Radical Biol. Med. 51/12 (2011) 2172–2184]>

After an institutional investigation into the work of Dr. Jun Ren, University of Wyoming subsequently conducted an examination of other selected publications of Dr. Ren’s under the direction of the HHS Office of Research Integrity. Based on the findings of this examination, the University of Wyoming recommended this article be retracted due to concerns regarding image manipulation and the duplication of images across publications purporting to be different experimental outcomes. Specifically, University of Wyoming found evidence of image reuse and manipulation of Fig. 6 meaning the results and conclusions reported in the manuscript cannot be relied upon.
