Violin plot of the antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of all four populations against amikacin, meropenem, piperacillin-tazobactam, ciprofloxacin, tobramycin, and ceftazidime as measured by zone of inhibition in a standard disc diffusion assay shows phenotypic diversity across all populations. Data points are clustered and colored by respective patient, with each individual violin plot representing 75 isolates from a single patient. Black horizontal bars indicate the cut-off values for susceptibility (top bar) and resistance (bottom bar) for each antibiotic as determined by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI). Clinical thresholds for resistance to amikacin, meropenem, piperacillin-tazobactam, ciprofloxacin, tobramycin, and ceftazidime are 14, 15, 14, 18, 12, and 14 mm, respectively. Clinical thresholds for sensitivity to these antimicrobials are 17, 19, 21, 25, 15, and 18 mm, respectively.
