Greetings from the desk of Editor-in Chief.

As the year ends and a new year dawns, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Abhijit Chowdhary for his outstanding contribution to the journal during the successful completion of his tenure as editor over the last many years. Also, I would like to welcome Dr. Sumeeta Khurana as Editor, Dr. Tuhina Banerjee, Dr. Abhishek Mewara, Dr. Vibhor Tak, Dr. Bhaskar Thakuria as Associate editors, and Dr. Nishant Verma and Dr. Namrata Bhosale as Assistant editors. I am confident that strong and skilful teamwork will guarantee a continuing timely processing of the submitted manuscripts also in future.

I would like to thank all the current board members that have supported Tropical Parasitology as well as our authors and reviewers for publishing and disseminating high-quality research and encourage researchers to submit their latest findings to the journal. This is a PubMed indexed journal, and from this issue, we have introduced a new and interesting section of “Photo challenge.”

The importance of parasites and their impact, not only on the lives of humans and animals but also on the evolution of the biodiversity of life, are considerable. As the field of parasitology expands, reflected in the growing number of journals and the broadening scope of established ones, Tropical Parasitology continues to cover all the aspects of parasitology. Our vision is for the journal to thrive, publishing high-quality research across various parasitological sections and bridging traditional disciplines with new and interdisciplinary research fields.

In this issue of Tropical parasitology, we have a presidential oration discussing artificial intelligence for parasitic disease control: a paradigm shift in healthcare, a review article elucidating the relationship of Cryptosporidium with irritable bowel disease. This issue features interesting original articles on diverse topics. One article discusses molecular diagnosis of echinococcosis from frozen paraffin-embedded tissue samples. Studies on molecular appraisal of Giardia intestinalis, polymorphisms in antimalarial drug resistance marker genes in Plasmodium falciparum from Kolkata, and diagnostic modalities for malaria are included in this issue. Short reports on rhinosporidiosis and treatment refractory cryptosporidiosis are other articles in this issue. The newly introduced photo challenge section is another interesting feature in this issue. This issue includes an email interview with Dr. PS Banerjee, a renowned scientist both in India and internationally.

I trust that the articles featured in this edition will provide captivating and enjoyable reading.
